Kian Tatsuo Linam is a pianist and music producer based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area whose musical achievements and contributions have earned him formal commendation from both the Virginia Senate and the Virginia House of Delegates.

A two-time YoungArts Award winner (2024, 2025) and recipient of multiple DownBeat Student Music Awards, Kian has performed alongside acclaimed artists and ensembles, including The US Army Blues (as a winner of the US Army Blues Solo Competition), Ashlin Parker & The Trumpet Mafia, and bassist Michael Bowie. His performances have taken him to some of the country's most respected venues and festivals, including Blues Alley, The Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, The Blue Room in Kansas City, the Capitol Hill Jazz Festival, The Hamilton, The Carlyle Room, and The Atlas Performing Arts Center.

In 2025, Kian was selected as one of the top student jazz musicians in the country to join the NEA/Herbie Hancock Institute National Peer-to-Peer All-Star Jazz Quintet Tour, performing throughout Kansas and Kansas City alongside jazz legends Bobby Watson and Lisa Henry. He currently attends the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where he has performed with the Peabody Jazz Orchestra alongside Jon Faddis and Igmar Thomas.

As a producer under the name tatsuo, Kian has built a catalog of original music that draws over 400,000 monthly listeners. His work has been frequently featured on Spotify's editorial playlists, including "lofi beats," "focus flow," "new lofi," and "lofi summer beats." Kian frequently releases with labels such as Settle and Fortune Cookie Records.
